Your first Lan Ha kayaking trip: pack light and follow the guide
Kayaking offers a close-to-the-water view, but going farther alone does not make the experience better. For your first outing, choose a guided activity, listen to the briefing and keep the programme within your abilities.

Ask the operator before booking
- Is kayaking included, together with the necessary equipment?
- Is the kayaking session guided, and what are the activity area and return point?
- Does the operator have age limits or specific requirements for children?
- If I do not kayak, can I stay aboard or join another activity?
- If conditions are unsuitable, is kayaking replaced or handled under another policy?
Tell the operator if you have never kayaked or need help boarding. They need this information to check equipment and suitability; ask before the group reaches the launch point.
Pack light and prepare to get wet
- Wear comfortable clothing and bring a dry change for after the activity.
- Choose grippy footwear as advised by the operator.
- Use a properly closed waterproof bag for your phone and essentials.
- Bring drinking water and suitable sun protection, and secure belongings so they do not fall into the bay.
- Leave large luggage in the designated location; avoid unnecessary valuables on a kayak.
A photo is not worth disregarding instructions
Ask the guide about suitable photo locations. Secure equipment and stay with the group. Photos can wait; the activity boundaries must be followed throughout.
Let actual conditions determine the outing
Use the life jacket and equipment as instructed, learn boarding procedures and agree signals with your partner. Do not enter caves, change route or leave the designated area independently. The guide decides what conditions allow.
Kayaking may change or be unavailable
Wind, rain and sailing restrictions may change the programme. A paid booking cannot override a closure. Read the tour's change and cancellation terms and ask how unavailable activities are handled before confirming.
Keep your rubbish and avoid touching or taking anything from the natural environment. Check belongings before returning equipment. If tired, tell the operator rather than joining extra activities outside the plan.
